Eye Tests
How much does an eye test cost?
$89. If you buy a pair of prescription glasses with us, we bulk bill the test, so there's nothing to pay for it.
How long does an appointment take?
30 minutes, with an AHPRA-registered optometrist.
Do I need a referral?
No. Just book online or give us a call.
How often should I have my eyes tested?
Every two years for most adults. Sooner if something's changed, or if your optometrist has asked to see you before then.
Do you test children?
Yes, though most of our customers are grown-ups.
Glasses and lenses
How long until my glasses are ready?
Usually 5 to 10 working days. Specialist lenses take longer and we'll tell you upfront if yours will.
Why are you quicker than most?
We trace your frame's shape in store and send the measurements straight to Shamir's lab in Brisbane, so your lenses start being cut immediately instead of waiting for the frame to travel across the country.
Can you put new lenses in frames I already own?
Yes, and it's one of our favourite jobs. Because we trace the frame in store, you keep wearing your glasses while the new lenses are made.
Can I bring a prescription from another optometrist?
Of course. Bring it in and we'll get started on frames.
Do you do prescription sunglasses?
Yes. Most of our frames can be made up with prescription lenses, single vision or progressive, polarised or photochromic. We're also an authorised Maui Jim reseller, prescription or not.
Do you do prescription safety glasses?
Yes. We're an authorised PSG Eyewear dealer, with certified frames to AS/NZS 1337.6 in store to try on.
Payment and claims
Can I claim on my health fund?
Yes, on the spot. We'll process the claim here and you only pay the gap.
Do you offer a senior's discount?
Yes, 10% off.
Are there any other offers?
We do 20% off your second pair of frames and lenses, ongoing. Have a look at our offers page for what's on at the moment.
Visiting Us
Do I need an appointment to look at frames?
Not at all. Pop in any time we're open and have a browse.
If you'd like our undivided attention, book a styling appointment and Justine will take you through the collection over a cup of tea, or something fizzy.
Where are you?
201 South Terrace, South Freo.
When are you open?
Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. Saturday, 10am to 3pm. Closed Sunday and Monday, though we're happy to open by appointment. Just ask.
