Malala Day - July 14 2014 - #StrongerThan
Malala Yousafzai is a remarkable young woman.
In 2012, when she was 15 years old, members of her community walked onto a school bus and shot her, simply because she is female, and in their eyes, not deserving of an education. From just the age of 14 Malaya has lived with a death threat against her, because she chose to stand up and demand an education for herself and millions of other girls in the world.
Malala survived the shooting, and has made it her mission to change the world so that every girl and woman has the right to education.
Malala Day is a day to celebrate Malala and children around the world, encouraging them to speak up and be heard. And a day to be stronger than the enemies who threaten them.
After watching this video, I simply had to share it. It gave me chills down my spine thinking what this beautiful young woman has gone through, and the courage that she has.
I couldn't help but think how I've taken education and lifelong learning for granted. I'll be tweeting on Malala Day, and showing my support. I hope you will be too. #StrongerThan
