Eye Care Tips for the Frequent Computer User
Technology takes its toll on your eyes. With all the TVs, computers, and gadgets that will keep our eyes glued almost 24/7, our eyes sure do get tired. This is the time we should take care of them.
Time for your eye checkup, at least once a year. Whether you have 20/20 vision or not, you should have your eyes checked at least once a year.
Don’t miss out on your fruits and veggies. Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Beta-carotene are the best choice for healthier eyes. You can get these from green and yellow vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, and spinach. Omega-3 from fish and nuts may also prevent macular degeneration and dry eyes.
Make sure you are wearing the right prescription glasses or contact lenses. Get your prescription checked regularly. Wearing multicoated glasses will also help reduce reflection, thus reducing eye strain when in front of computers for long hours. If you’re on using contact lenses, make sure your hands are always clean before handling them, and give your eyes a break from contacts regularly.
Just like any other activity, take eye breaks in between computer use.
Take care of your eyes – they’re precious!
